Cocoa and Almond Granola


  • 1/4 cup cacao powder
  • 4 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup sunflower seeds
  • 3/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup 100% apple puree
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup good quality honey
  • 2 cups chopped almonds (raw)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sunflower or rice bran oil


Lightly grease a square pan or baking dish. In a large bowl combine all ingredients.

Once combined, spread mixture into the pan and bake in a 180c oven for 40-50 minutes. Turn mixture half way through baking to prevent burning.

Allow to cool then store in an airtight jar in the fridge till ready to use.

To serve, place in a bowl and top with milk of choice and/or yoghurt and banana.
